The possible strategic plan of Iran in Latin America

Over the last period of time, many governments and even the general public opinion, criticizes the last agreement made between the US and Iran. The modern world focuses its attention marking it as one of the most important achievements reached by the concerned countries, and although I am not in favor of imposing economic governments sanctions, today I must admit that Iran managed to reach two goals:

-The relieve of their economic after withdrawing the economical sanctions

-The freedom to develop uranium for its future nuclear targets.

Some countries sees only the positive sides of the agreement. The  other opinions like us  that are concerned about this agreement, determines   that in the last ten years in which Iran got the influence on the political Middle East map, we also  pay attention in how this country’s influence grew over the international area.

To be more specific, Iran made a path that took 30 years to build. The 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, which rose the power  to the  Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, marked a turning point in the Iranian history.

This event in which the new Islamic Republic was declared, brought to an end the governing of the Pahlavi dynasty, and the Persian Empire which ruled the country for over 2500 years. From that day until now, Iran has expanded throughout their strategic capacity to place the rest of the world under his wing power. Of course the first results were seen in the Middle East and an example is the creation of the terrorist organization Hezbollah back in the 80’s, being operated from a strategic area also under the Iranian influence.

From 1979 until today, we can see different activities led by Iran to increase its influence beyond the boundaries of the Middle East, the problem is that international opinion put its ears in speeches addressed to Western countries. The best example was precisely the speech that was given at the United Nations by Ali Hosseini Khamenei in France in 1978. In that speech Khamenei didn’t attack the US or offended the women’s rights in the society. Of course we must have bare in  mind that the same speech was written by consultants of the same spiritual leader, who many years ago where send to be educated and trained in deferent  Western countries, and they knew how to  carry the foreign policies of Iran or rather how to sweeten the ears of the Western world.

The Islamic revolution in Iran enable a policy which helped to build the government that we know today. After more than 30 years Iran achieved another milestone, as I said earlier, reflected by the removal of the economical sanctions by the west. Today, after 30 years of the Islamic revolution, Iran had managed to achieve its first steps on uranium enrichment. This action is a result of their governmental lobby within the western countries, but Iran was not satisfied with those, and that is when Israel and the rest of world should ask: what happened with the third world countries, what is Iran intention with them?

We will be surprise to see that Iran influence  is not a start or a beginning rather their political presence in those -countries goes beyond cultural or political change. What if Iran sees those countries as a basis towards a more sinister future?

During the last thirty years, Iran placed their sights on Latin American countries, building a strategic political plan.

The  implication of  the Iranian policy in   Latin America

Thirty years ago arrive to Latin America the first Iranian representative. Ten years late, the city of Buenos Aires suffered the terror attacks that we already know. However, the influence of Iran  grew at time that Hugo Chavez became the president of Venezuela .Since than the Iranian influence in the rest of the Latin-American  countries  increased rapidly.

Although Iran is situated with internal conflicts, Iran now enjoys of a new position with the success of the last nuclear agreement, they could prove especially to their followers, how far you can get through a work that you have carried for years. The problem is that the world ignores how this new influence that developed in the third world countries, particularly in Latin America.

The Director of the “Centre for secure free society”, Joseph M. Humire, specializing in security issues and free market, and also the coordinator of a study called Iran Strategic Penetration of Latin America, explained as follows:

Iran’s strategy is based on asymmetrical warfare which is to create a conquest influence without the use the military force. On the contrary it comes to face the enemy influencing public opinion and political legitimacy thus creating an advantage. If this was the strategy carried for years for Iran’s  fight against Israel and the US, keep in mind that terrorist that Iran use also as violent tool for their  plan. Within Latin America, Iran got it’s  first achievements, one is the creation of several lobby in deferent’s  governments that made a strong   diplomatic alliances, and on the other a more clandestine with more nefarious purposes.  We now are facing a future of more terrorist attacks with the contribution of Latin American local agents.

The foreign policy of Israel and the United States has to Latin America as a last priority, not realizing that a vacuum that was filled by Iran when no Western country find out what was happened,  underestimating the political power that countries like Iran may have in the future on that zone.

Hezbollah taking positions:

We all know about the Iranian influence on terrorist organizations, those are the terrorist organizations that are responsible for bombing of the Jews community building (AMIA) in Buenos Aires. This is only one example. Iran has expanded its ties, and another example is Cuba.

Cuba was the first country to recognize the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1982, by that time both Fidel Castro and his brother Raul had a close relationship with the Iranian ayatollahs.

This relationship was intended to advise Iran in how to increase their influence in the Latin-American countries. This influence grew with the arrival of Hugo Chavez, and until today there are tight diplomatic relations between Tehran and Havana. Iran depends on Cuba for achieving its next target. Compared to other Latin American countries, Cuba has acquired a military field knowledge by the Soviets to improve their strategy on the zone. All this in exchange for economic assistance, which Iran can supply today after the lifting the sanctions.

The risk here is not only between Latin America and its relations with Iran. We must understand that if after 30 years of deep relations between Iran and Latin America Iran had managed to gain the support of those countries in the nuclear agreement, what will happen in 30 years  from now?

I think it’s time for Israel to begin placing their sights on Latin American countries, not only in the commercial area but also in the political category.

We couldn’t imagine  that the Hezbollah would be established in Lebanon as a strategic point and well managed under the influence and support of Iran attacking Israel by the 80s, as well as sparked a war in 2006, we must take a closer look  to what is developing between Iran and Latin American countries those days. To understand how important are these countries in Latin America, just enough to calculate the kilometers between Havana and Miami, Mexico and Texas, with the support of other governments.
